Researchers compared the use of Metformin alone with a combined therapy of Metformin and acupuncture for treating diabetic patients with obesity and insulin resistance.

In this study they concluded that the combined therapy significantly improves:

  • body weight & body mass index
  • blood sugar & insulin markers
  • fat & inflammation markers
  • and even serotonin

This may prove to be incredibly useful if in the future it becomes an accepted integrative medicine strategy to help the millions of people suffering from obesity and diabetes around the world.
