Mctimoney Chiropractic is a gentle, safe & effective treatment for the whole body. Its an holistic form of chiropractic that makes up around a quarter of the profession in the UK. The gentle, whole-body nature of McTimoney chiropractic makes it suitable for people of all ages including pregnant women, children and the elderly.
Gentle
The adjustments used are delivered locally and swiftly with immediate release, making them comfortable to receive.
Safe
McTimoney adjustments are very safe, mainly because a patient’s bones are never forced to move – they are released naturally towards their correct position. Chiropractors are trained to recognise serious disease and will make medical referrals when necessary.
Holistic
McTimoney chiropractic is concerned with the health of the whole body, not just isolated areas causing pain. If one part of the body is malfunctioning then knock-on effects often arise. Hip or pelvic problems, for example, may cause knee pain.

How much time does it take?
Our chiropractor is very thorough so a new patient should allow an hour for the first appointment, which includes a comprehensive health screening and the first treatment. Follow-up appointments average 30-40 minutes.
How many treatments will i need?
We like to see quick results so improvement is normally seen after 1-3 treatments, and we recommend 4-8 weekly treatments to begin with and reassess you then. This is because everyone is different and your recovery depends on many factors like the nature and duration of the problem, age, general fitness and commitment to a treatment plan and advice given.
Will my insurance pay for it?
Most major insurance companies will cover your treatment, but check with them first. These include Aviva, AXA / PPP, Standard Life, Simply health, PruHealth and more.
